Memorial to Ruby Sanders
Trumpet Shophar Ministries Carl Sanders

A prayer request to all of our friends.

On Wednesday, the 29th of December 2004. Ruby and I had gone to the post office and were on our way to the clinic to have the Doctor look at Ruby’s throat. She was having trouble swallowing and otherwise seemed fine. One hour after arriving at the clinic she was in a lifeline helicopter on her way to a hospital in Mt. Home Arkansas. Ruby who had always been by my side had suffered a severe heart attack. On Friday after the tests the report was not encouraging many of you prayed and we thank the Lord for all of you. We learned quickly the value of our family as they gathered around us. We also learned just how important our church family was with a pastor and staff who were very willing to bend the knee and pray for Ruby and I. It just seemed like a flood of people and one precious lady who gave special meaning to the words “Precious heavenly father “ as she repeated it so many times in such love.  Monday would be more tests and as we waited for the results we continued to pray and were prayed for.

It was found that there was more good tissue in her heart then they first thought and that after about six weeks of rest and medication she would  be strong enough for the triple bypass surgery. Ruby came home and we were so grateful for the time that God gave us with her. She reflected the love of Jesus to our son and daughters. The love of the Lord so radiated from her as she witnessed to all of us.

On the 10th of January 2005 at 10:06 am Ruby got her complete healing and went to be with the Lord. We had just started our 47th year of marriage and while our family grieves we will carry on the witness of Jesus to others by the example she left us with.

Ruby and I were friends, lovers and soul mates she was my wife and mother of four children, grandmother of eight and constant companion. She was my nurse when I was ill with cancer and taught me about faith as we traveled. She challenged me in her meek and mild way and I’m really going to miss her.

I’m Free

Do not grieve for me, for now I’m free

I’m following the path God laid for me.

Took his hand when I heard him call

Turned my back and left it all.

I could not stay another day

To laugh, to love, to work or play.

Tasks left undone must stay that way

I found that peace at the close of day.

If my parting has left a void,

Then fill it with remembered joy.

A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss,

Ah yes, these things I too will miss.

Be not burdened with times of sorrow.

I wish you the sunshine of tomorrow.

My life’s been full, I’ve savored much,

Good friends, good times, a loved one’s touch.

Perhaps my time seemed all too brief,

Don’t lengthen it now with undue grief.

Lift up your hearts and share with me

God wanted me now, he’s set me free

God called Ruby and I to the ministry and Lord willing I will continue until we join hands together on the other side of the Jordan River.
